This talk looked at the legal cases faced by Queen Liliuokalani following the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom. The memories of Curtis Piehu Iaukea, the Queen’s advisor, are shared in order to glimpse the early territorial era in Hawaii and that period’s effects on the landscape and Hawaiian population.
